Privacy Policy
Last updated October 4, 2026
This policy explains what Cleaner AI (the “App”) does with information. In short: the App works on your photos, videos and contacts on your device. They are never uploaded to us. We do not show ads, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and the App has no accounts.
Who we are
The App is developed and operated by Ece Yaren Sarımaden, an independent developer based in Istanbul, Türkiye, who is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us through the support page.
Your photos, videos and contacts
To find duplicate, similar and blurry photos and large videos, and to compress videos, the App reads your photo library with your permission. All of this analysis — including the on-device machine-learning that compares images — runs on your device. Your photos and videos are never sent to our servers or to anyone else. The App only deletes or replaces an item when you ask it to, and deleted items go to the Photos app's “Recently Deleted” album as usual.
If you allow access to contacts, the App reads them on your device to find duplicates and to make backups that stay on your device. Contacts are not uploaded.
Information we do process
- Purchases. Subscriptions are sold and charged by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether you have an active subscription. RevenueCat receives a random identifier created for the App, the products you buy and the status of your subscription. We never see your payment details.
- Crash reports. If the App crashes, Firebase Crashlytics (Google) receives a crash report with the device model, OS version, app version and the technical state of the App at the time.
- Usage analytics. Amplitude receives events about how the App is used (for example, that a scan finished or a screen was opened), with device model, OS version, app version, language, country and a random identifier. These events contain no photos, file names or contacts.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, OneSignal receives a push token for your device so we can send you reminders. You can turn notifications off at any time in the iOS Settings app.
- Support messages. When you write to us through the support page, we keep your email address and your message so we can answer you.
- App settings. When it starts, the App downloads its settings from our server. That request carries the app version, language and region; we do not store it beyond ordinary, short-lived server logs.
What we don't do
We do not sell personal data, show advertising, use your data to build advertising profiles, or track you across other companies' apps and websites. The App does not ask for permission to track.
Legal bases
We process this information to provide the App and the subscription you bought (contract), to keep the App working and fix problems (legitimate interest), and, for notifications, with your consent.
Retention
Support messages are deleted two years after the conversation ends. Crash reports and analytics are kept for the periods set by those providers (at most 12 months for analytics we control). Purchase records are kept as long as the law requires.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or Türkiye's KVKK), you may ask to access, correct or delete information about you, to object to or restrict its use, or to complain to a data protection authority. Because the App has no accounts, the easiest way is to write to us on the support page and tell us what you need.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
International transfers
Our service providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union, under the safeguards the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above; for important changes we will also tell you in the App.
